The UTP Cat5e structured cabling system allows you to set up a generic telecommunications infrastructure within a building, creating a local area network (LAN). Category 5e is described within the TIA/EIA 568A, ISO/IEC 11801, EN 50173 and EN 50288-3-1 standards and can work at speeds of up to 1000Mbps within an Ethernet environment, and can also carry other signals such as basic telephony, TokenRing and ATM services. Designed for transmission at frequencies up to 100MHz.
